The recent COVID-19 has greatly impacted the exhibition industry. Exhibition organisers have gone from holding physical events to holding virtual or hybrid events. In both physical and virtual exhibitions, the common pain points faced by the exhibition industry are:
- Matching the interests of visitors and exhibitors; and
- Creating an optimum visiting plan for visitors based on their preferences and constraints.
In this project, the team will make use of artificial intelligence and operations research techniques to develop state-of-the-art solution that aims to address the above-mentioned pain points. A dynamic recommender system will be designed and developed to help in the recommendation of exhibitors’ products and services to visitors. The project team will also develop new optimisation methods to generate an optimum visiting plan for the visitors based on their preferences and constraints.
