MEIYUME is one of the world’s leading global beauty companies and a proven industry specialist. The company’s three interconnected divisions of Packaging & Turnkey, Retail Solutions, and Brands give it unique depth and breadth within what is acknowledged to be one of the worlds’ fastest growing business sectors.
The product and brand expertise within MEIYUME spans innovation in cosmetics and skincare R&D, formulation and filling, primary and secondary packaging through to the creation of ranges and marketing for owned brands. The Retail Solutions division expands the business offering further through the design and development of in store customer experience and display, smart technologies that collect consumer engagement and demographic data and operational software to support the rapid digitisation of retail systems.
Now, as the beauty sector expands and reinvents itself in Asia, the MEIYUME business needs to leverage data analytics to evaluate trends and shifts in the market at a pace which satisfies their clients’ needs.
NUS Business School, Department of Analytics and Operations will partner with Meiyume to jointly develop an engine that will scrape keywords for beauty product trends and consumer sentiment via external web / social media platform and through internal system. This, together with creative dashboard visualisation will deliver insight using real-time data. In turn, this will help the business make informed and fact-based decisions on product and packaging innovation and experiential initiatives as well as supporting their retail partners as they adapt to an increasingly digital world.
