K&S and IORA Update Manufacturing Operations to Achieve the Visions Broadly Defined in Industry 4.0

The industry project between Kulicke & Soffa (K&S) and Institute of Operations Research and Analytics (IORA) at National University of Singapore (NUS), seeks to leverage on data collected by sensors to better guide K&S’ decision making processes. It also looks at integrating human resource data with the production and sensor data to help K&S optimize their manpower allocation, improve product quality and increase production throughput. Adopting the industry standard CRISP-DM (cross industry standard process for data mining) methodology, K&S and IORA, NUS will jointly develop predictive and optimization algorithms to achieve K&S’ business goals.
